Tree Farms

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

Overview

  • Rated:  not rated, probably would be considered since George's Gorge is.
  • Type of trail:  treed area with a mild slope, various tree densities
  • Every trail on the back except for Gray Wolf will eventually lead you down to the tree farms.  This is a reforestation area of smaller trees on the lower half of the back side.  As the season progresses, the smaller trees are swallowed up, leaving more and more space between the trees.  It's a great place to practice skiing trees without the fear of steeps to contend with as well.  Since most of the trails end up in this area, there is no official "entrance".
