Super Mario

(May have other local names.  This might also be known as "Gray Horn".)

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

Overview

  • Rated:  not rated.  Not on map.  Ski with a guide and at your own risk.  Probably terrain.  NOTE:  The season of 2013-14 saw a tree well death in this area.
  • Type of trail:  Treed run, some cliffs.
  • Off of Gray Wolf cat track, just past Big Horn.  Rarely skied because it's not labeled on the map, there is usually excellent powder in this area.  Skiers should go with a guide until they are familiar with the area as it is possible to get "cliffed out".
  • The exit is either cutting left, back on to Gray Wolf, or continuing down and using the Big Horn run out.

View approaching Super Mario:

Looking down from the cat track:

A zoomed view down the pitch.  The exit run (a continuation of Big Horn) can be seen in the distance.

Looking back up from Gray Wolf:

Super Mario is the treed area on the left.
