Schmidt's Chute

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

 

Overview

  • Rated:  
  • Type of trail:  Steep treed area beyond North Bowl Face on the way to Inspiration.  Similar pitch, but the entrance has tighter trees.
  • The opening has tight trees, but these open up a short way down.  There are then denser trees at the bottom before you find your way over to Moe-Mentum or you can traverse and exit via North Bowl Face.
  • There are roughly three exit strategies, skier's left toward North Bowl Face is probably the easiest.  Proceeding straight down has some quirky bits.  Skier's right I haven't done yet.
