Powder Trap

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

Overview

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Treed area between Langley and Heep Steep.  There is one cleared section as well.  It is groomed once in a while, but rarely.
  • Accessed  from Upper Langley or Langley Trees, or from The Chute or Big Face with a cut through the trees off the cat track.
  • There is a piece of Powder Trap ABOVE the cat track.  It is rarely groomed, but can be seen in the first picture below.  Personally, I have always considered it to be Langley Trees.

Overview of area, as seen from Chair One:

Upper section of Powder Trap in the trees alongside Upper Langley.  Either side of this I'd consider Langley Trees:

I'm including this under Powder Trap because they often groom the area as one long section:  Enter from a small road off Upper Langley on skier's right, or off Chute, skier's left.

Views descending:

The first two are at the top of the cleared section, the rest are off to the sides.

Trees either side of the lower section:

Views from Heep Steep:

The Gelaendesprung can be seen at the bottom in both of these:
