Connie's Coulee

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Lightly treed, steep area running alongside Chair One.  The more northerly end has more widely-spaced trees.  The slope and tree density increases as you move south along the face.
  • Coming off Chair One, head left towards Hell Fire and then hang a SHARP left OR, head back over your right shoulder getting off the lift and then select an entrance along the right.
  • Enter ONLY through marked gates.
  • For most, but not all, of the entrances to Connie's, the trees are denser in the beginning than they are as the slope increases.  A great shot of this is from Gravity Shots.  (Connie's is the treed area on the right of the picture.)

Overview of area seen from Hell Fire:

Pretty much all of the area seen in the picture is part of Connie's, although there may be local names for individual lines.

View of Connie's along Chair One:

Connie's is off to the right.  There are several gates into Connie's, some from this approach, others from the route to Hell Fire:

The more densely treed area is Area 51 (Teepee).  You can see Chair 1 in the distance.  Skiing along that liftline, a right turn takes you into this area.

Like most of the trails in Hellroaring Basin, Connie's descends into Glory Hole:
