Overview

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Meandering beginner run that takes a nice tour of the mountain, crossing almost every trail on the western portion of the front side on its way to the Base Lodge.  A nice way to get a feel for the mountain layout when you first arrive.  The "way home" for many staying at mountain lodges.  Also a nice way to check out real estate!
  • The beginning of the trail is on Upper Mully's, but since it crosses so many trails, you can get on it from almost any Chair Two or Chair Three trail.  To get to it from Chair One, come down Big Ravine and get on Interstate to get over to the Chair Two area.
  • Home Again is lighted for night skiing as far as Chair Three (which is also running when night skiing is offered).  At that point, you need to come down Ski Way to return to Chair Two.
  • The tail end of this run goes over two bridges, one of which is Big Mountain Road, then under another road further down.  Kids love that part.  Since so many of my pictures of this trail were really taken of the other trails, I have added arrows to show where Home Again is crossing the main trail.
  • The upper portions of this trail where it crosses Mully's, Ed's, Hibernation, Hellroaring, and Nice Day used to be considered part of Interstate.  After an elbow was added at the upper end to avoid Upper Mully's, the elbow and its route across those trails was re-labeled as Home Again.
  • As you cross these many trails, be sure to look uphill and yield to the skiers above you.  Without getting into the differences between two rules (yielding as you enter a trail and yielding to the downhill skier), this is just plain old, common sense, defensive skiing.  Also, since this is a narrow cat track, try not to block everyone else by having a confab with your friends in the middle of the trail.  Move to the side to let others pass.
  • Watch out for kids on sleds in the residential section.  They are not supposed to be there, but apparently their parents are clueless.
  • This trail used to be open for uphill skiing.  That is no longer the case.  Nevertheless, there are some who haven't read the latest uphill policy.  Be ready for surprises of this nature in the more winding areas of the trail.
