Hibernation

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

Overview

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Intermediate cruiser with a consistent pitch.  Not always groomed.  Not open for night skiing.
  • Take Chair Two and turn left as you exit the lift.  Pass the trail map and continue on and the trail will widen considerably.  On your right will be Hellroaring, on your left Ed's.  The statue of Jesus will be behind you.  Start to go down Hellroaring but head to your left.  This trail meets up with Hellroaring and Ed's Run at the bottom.  Proceed down Ed's Run and head left to get back to Chairs One and Two.
  • If you come over from the Chair One area, you'll take Big Ravine down its first pitch, then exit onto Interstate on the right.  That will bring you to the top of Mully's, but continue across to get to Ed's, then ski some more to get to Hellroaring.  Hibernation will be just below you on the left..

Ed's to the left, Hellroaring to the right, Hibernation is just a little bit down from this picture.:

You can see the break in the tree line that is Hibernation:

View arriving from Interstate:

Hibernation would be just up to where those skiers are, then down on your left.  If you ski down from where this picture is being taken, you'll be on Ed's Run.

Views descending Hibernation:

This just above the Home Again trail, which crosses Hibernation half way down:

This from Home Again.  Note that there are two groves of trees on Hibernation, one in each section.  This picture is taken from the left side of the trail.  The above was on the right side of the trail.

Grove of trees in second section, from the right side of the grove.

View of the bottom pitch (ignore the cut in the trees, Hibernation heads left)
