Hogan's East

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

 

Overview

  • Rated:  
  • Type of trail:  Intermediate cruiser.  Groomed most days, except the upper third, which is occasionally left ungroomed.  Less skied than the other two tines of the fork coming off Inspo and Hogan's, possibly because those unfamiliar with the mountain miss the entrance.
  • Getting off Chair 1, head back over your right shoulder towards the front of the mountain and take the left fork as you leave the lift area.  Do not stop along the cat track or at the end of the cat track until you are out of the way on the far side of the ridge as bottlenecks could force people down into Space, which is NOT for everyone.  Continue down Inspiration and either take the back door entrance to Hogan's East just past Fault 2, or continue to the fork and either ski a high line across to catch the top of the run or hang a left just before heading down Hogan's.  
  • At the bottom, you can either return to Chair One via Russ's Street or take any of several left turns from Russ's down to the Base Lodge.

Hang a left for a narrow connector to Hogan's East.  Keep an eye for skiers and riders entering the trail from Fault 2 or that hump area.

Take a high left line to get to the upper part of Hogan's East.  Hogan's East is beyond those trees.  That section is occasionally not groomed, but you have plenty of opportunity to change your mind and head to the lower entrance if you get over there and don't like conditions.
