Ptarmigan Bowl Area and Upper Mountain

Click on a trail or area to connect to a description and pictures.

Overview:

The Ptarmigan Bowl area is the central part of the mountain and faces south, which is something to keep in mind on sunny days as it softens the snow as the day goes on.  Some of these trails are the most challenging areas to ski when the weather is foggy, as well, due to the angle of the sun.  Click on an area to see its description.  NOTE:  Chairs 4 and 5 parallel Chair 1.  They are rarely open except during holiday periods.  However, they are prepped every Friday of the season to be used if needed.  Chair 4 will run if there are 4,000 or more skiers expected and Chair 5 will run if 5,000 or more are expected.
